The “Bubble”:  The pandemic has forced local schools to come together and restructure our leagues for the Fall 2020 season.  We are part of the Hampden East Bubble which consists of the following schools: Chicopee, Chicopee Comp, East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Minnechaugh, and Ludlow

Game Attendance In Our “Bubble”:  The Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference (PVIAC) Guidelines state that only home fans will be admitted to outdoor games and no spectators will be allowed at indoor contests.  When your student is playing at an away site, Ludlow’s parents and friends cannot attend.  The reason for this guideline is directly related to the state and local health department guidelines regarding the number of people that can gather for an event.

Away Game Transportation: It is our goal to have enough bus transportation to transport all of our teams to their away games in accordance with DESE Transportation Guidelines.  If parents would prefer to take responsibility for their student’s transportation to and from an away contest, please visit the Ludlow High School Athletic Webpage to download and sign a transportation waiver form. This form should be turned in to the athletic director before the day of the event.

Outdoor Games in the Stadium:  Each Ludlow player will receive two digital season passes that can be downloaded from  Each athlete will receive an email to their school account a unique code with instructions on how to download your two passes. Passes will be scanned at the main gate prior to entry and are good for a one time scan per event.  Soccer and Cross Country pass holders will enter and exit through the stadium’s main gate adjacent to the white ticket booth. Only individuals with valid passes will be admitted. If state guidelines on gathering size changes, the PVIAC will revisit this policy. Family units should sit together in bleacher areas designated by a maroon paw.

Outdoor Contests on Practice Fields, Parks, Golf Courses, and  Other Open Areas: Contests played on open areas, on and off of the Ludlow High School campus, are not subject to the same ticket policy as games within the stadium.  We ask that parents and fans maintain a 6-foot distance with others, not in their household family unit.  No spectators are allowed on the bench side of practice fields or near the start and finish lines of a cross country contest.

Indoor Contests: PVIAC Guidelines currently do not allow spectators for volleyball. If state guidelines change, the PVIAC will revisit this policy.

Live Streaming

Ludlow High School has partnered with the National Federation of High School Sports (NFHS) to live stream our games through their network. All contests played in the LHS gym and stadium will be streamed.  Families can purchase a monthly subscription for $10 or an annual subscription for $69.99 to watch the contests. Ludlow High School Athletics will 10% revenue share from each annual subscription purchased.  We expect to have the network up and running by Oct 15th. More Details coming soon.

Mask Policy: Surgical masks, medical-grade masks or cloth face masks (cloth masks made with 2 or more layers of cloth) that have ear loops or ties (preferably loops) are required for all student-athletes and coaches at all Ludlow Public School athletic venues.  The wearing of gaiters or vented masks are not permitted. All spectators must wear a face covering while attending contests at any venue where our athletes compete.

Press Box:   The press box is reserved for LHS Athletic Department Staff and members of the media approved by the athletic director and principal.

Concessions:  The concession stand will be closed until further notice.  No outside food or drink is allowed in the stadium. Please dispose of any trash responsibly.

Restrooms:  Public restrooms are available at outdoor venues.  All are encouraged to socially distance while using the facilities and masks are required at all times.

Senior Day:  Although we are limited to our gathering size due to state and local guidance, the athletic department will be working with each individual head coach and booster club to assist with any Senior Day plans.
