Granby, Ma – The Lions played their first game in a week and it showed as the Lions only mustered 9 points in the first quarter. However, a better effort in the second quarter and some halftime adjustments lead to the Lions eventually pulling away. The Lions outscored the Rams 39 to 15 in the second half, as the Ludlow Lions JV team beat the Granby JV Rams 63-43 on Friday night.
The Lions (7-6) were lead by Sophomore Mike Szewczpk (14 points) who was unstoppable at times in the second half. Freshman, Will Hall continued his great season as he put in a career high 10 points. Sophomores Ethan Schwartz (9 points) and Jonathan Dubour (7 points) added great all around games. Freshmen Felix Vargas saw his first minutes of the season and chipped in with 5 points. Freshmen Joe Bates continues to improve since the call up from the Freshmen team. Joe finished with 6 points in a good all around game.
Granby was lead by T. Sudbury (12 points) and C. Kennedy (11 points).
The Lions are off for a few days before traveling to South Hadley on Tuesday then home on Wednesday and Friday to face Southwick and Palmer respectively.
