Palmer, Ma – The Ludlow Lions JV Boys Basketball team ran into an angry pack of Panthers on Thursday night at Palmer High School. The Palmer Panthers dominated the game from start to finish and beat the Lions by a final score of 70 to 50.
The Lions defense struggled to create turnovers, stops and get defensive rebounds. This resulted in Jack Letendre pumping in 35 points for the Panthers. The Lions tried zone, man to man and even a box and one but nothing seemed to slow down Jack as he finished the game with 7 three pointers.
The Lions offense had difficultly getting going from the beginning. Several missed layups and missed open jump shots ultimately did the Lions in. The Lions were once again led by Freshman Thomas Hitchcock who had 7 points. Freshmen Ethan Schwartz and Chris Fogg both finished with 6 points each. Sophomore Joseph Snopek and Freshman Wyatt Chambers turned in their best games of the season. Thursday’s game also saw the return of Sophomore Malik Serisser (2 points) who has been out for a few weeks with a toe injury.
The Lions (9-8) look to get back on the winning track on Monday when they take on Hampshire Regional at home. Ludlow beat Hampshire back in early January by 1 point.
