The girls’ JV basketball team was too much for visiting Belchertown to handle, topping the Orioles 29-15 on Tuesday night. The win pushed the squad to 9-4 overall, and represented their most complete team performance to date. For the Lions, Alexa Formejster was a defensive nuisance, while Alyssa Moore’s sharp passing led to several open looks.
On offense, the team was able to connect from deep, getting early threes from Kali Grimes and Whitney Scott, and then late threes from Grimes and Kassy Muise. Dani Smith and Hannah Nilson were consistent threats in the paint, while Ana McDonald pushed the pace in transition to keep the visitors on their heels.
The team goes on the road for the next couple, Friday at South Hadley and Tuesday at Agawam, before returning home to play Taconic on Friday, February 9th. See you there!
