The snow was falling outside Tuesday night as the Ludlow girls’ JV basketball team easily handled Granby 29-12 for their sixth straight win. A slow start had the Lions up just 6-5 at the end of the first quarter, but they clicked in the second, expanding their lead to 15-7 at the half. Granby made some adjustments to keep things close in the third, but Ludlow countered and held on to a comfortable margin.
The scoring load was spread out pretty evenly, with players tallying six, six, four, four, three, two, two, and one. On the other end it was another strong effort, as the Lions’ various presses and traps were too much for the Rams to break.
The girls will look to extend their streak Friday night at home against Agawam. Next week they’ll go on the road against Sabis on Tuesday before hosting Hampshire for another Friday night matchup. See you there!
