The Ludlow girls’ JV basketball team got back on the winning track with a confident 26-16 road win over Sabis on Tuesday night. Stifling defense was the story for the Lions, as their press continues to get better and better thanks to the hardworking rotation of on-ball defenders Julia Brillo, Sara Costa, Kali Grimes, Alexa Formejster, and Kassy Muise. In the post it was Whitney Scott who stood out with her excellent boxing out, and Ana McDonald who made her mark grabbing offensive rebounds in traffic. Dani Smith scored 10 to become the second team member to reach double digits this season.
The girls will look to build on this win when they host Hampshire Friday night. Next week they play Belchertown at home on Tuesday, then go to play South Hadley away Friday.
