The Ludlow girls’ JV basketball team put up a strong performance Monday night in their rematch against Hampshire, but it wasn’t quite enough as they fell 29-25. The Lions were able to go into the fourth quarter with a lead, but Hampshire hung around long enough to outlast the visiting team’s short bench, relying on free throws to pull out the victory.
Hannah Nilson had an excellent game, playing strong defense while solidly executing on offense on her way to a team-high seven points. Whitney Scott also played well, rebounding and running in transition with intensity.
After a couple days of practice the girls will be back in action at Belchertown on Friday, before finishing the season at home against South Hadley on Monday.
